obviously a gun

night comes obviously a gun
somewhere

priests & suicide
because night is a hammer

a knife: here there is torment
& time

here weather

here is weather irrevocable,
fish burning & sweating
the dead;

they carry her forever
past the silent abandon
a ship with torn sails, maybe,

like the flesh shreds from skin
razor-light its tiny
eternity.

the mad woman is waiting
beneath the balcony
& all the corpses are carpenters

or absences. the weather
gray the slow sensual
& being blind assumes

the normal human
function distorted//
a poem is words

suffering

the world is policemen

the world is policemen indefatigable
walking their heavy sorrow from door to door
chasing rainbows;

over the snow is the truculent sky transfinite
night – the cold is a straight arrow
to waken me somnolent

orgasm. torture is answers
so the woman has  a patch over one eye
& angry knives. she is talking television

a broken homeless. their gods
are all in invisible boxes. no smoke
but mist over snow is heaven & home
